Directions to 1^st Broughton Scout Headquarters, Garstang Road (next to Mariott Hotel)

Please do not park at the Headquarters itself as there is only limited space and the Beaver Scouts will be leaving their Colony meeting as you arrive.  Instead park on the car park on Durton Lane as detailed below.

 

Travelling north on the A6 from Preston, go under the M6 / M55 motorway junction.  As you come off the roundabout you want the first turning on the right in to Durton Lane and the church / school car park is on your left.  (For those of you travelling south on the A6 go past the Mariott Hotel and take the second left in to Durton Lane – if you get to the roundabout you’ve gone too far!)

 

There are two choices to walk from the car park to the Scout Headquarters (both take just a few minutes).  Either, come out of the car park and turn right, at the main road turn right so that you are once again heading north towards Garstang.  Cross the small road leading to the church and turn up the next driveway, 410 Garstang Road.  (If you pass the Mariott Hotel you’ve gone too far!)  Take the left fork in the drive and the Scout Headquarters is at the end of the drive.

 

Or, take the footpath from the car park up to the church.  Go through the churchyard and round the church.  Head towards the school, go through the gate and bear left up and over the playing fields past the wooden play area.  Go over two stiles and you’re there!  Beware that this route can get very muddy and slippery when it has been raining the previous week.
